G:link and the Gold Coast Titans have joined forces in 2019 to launch a new campaign aimed at mobilising the local community.
Three of the Titans star players will be even more visible across the city with a new 43-metre tram wrap highlighting the TransLink go card as the best way to ride the G:.
Face of the campaign AJ Brimson, Anthony Don and Jarrod Wallace will feature on the tram billboard along with posters at stations, on-board trams and across social media. A new video promoting the partnership will also be played on the big screen at Titans home games.
Member for Gaven Meaghan Scanlon said the Don’t get a penalty – just buy a ticket campaign was a new way to promote the need to always travel with a valid ticket.
“It is very exciting to partner with the Gold Coast Titans for the first time in 2019,” Ms Scanlon said.
“In rugby league there are penalties for not following the rules and G:link is no different, it’s the law to have a valid ticket when travelling on the tram or any public transport.
“The fine for travelling without a ticket is $261 so our message is simple – don’t get a penalty just buy a ticket.”
GoldlinQ’s Jason Ward said featuring the Titans across the G:link network was also a great reminder that you can travel for free on public transport to any Titans home game, provided you have a valid ticket for the Titans match.
“Public transport is the best way to get to Cbus Super stadium on game days, just show your event day ticket to access the free public transport services,” he said.
Gold Coast Titans Community Manager, Renee Cohen said it was great to be partnering with G:link on this community initiative.
“The G:Link project has been incredible for our City and the Gold Coast Titans are proud to play a role in educating locals and visitors to our region on the benefits and importance of touching on and off”
“Community has always been a key focus and priority for the Gold Coast Titans and we are honoured to have been able to play a small role in educating locals and visitors to our City on, not only how to utilise the G:Link, but also the benefits the service provides”
“Public transport is an easy way to get to our home games so working with G:link on this campaign makes a lot of sense,” Renee said.
Free transport with your event ticket is available on G:link services four hours prior to the main event until 4 hours post the end of the event.
There is a free shuttle bus to Cbus Super stadium from Broadbeach South station. Visit the TransLink website or contact TransLink on 13 12 30 for all transport information. Use the TransLink journey planner to plan your journey and get ready to cheer on the Gold Coast Titans!
